Author Visit: Catriona Crowe

Many thanks to the archivist and author Catriona Crowe who spoke to our Senior History and Politics students about the importance of primary source material for historical research.

Evidence based information is critical to mitigate the threats caused by the explosion of propaganda, misinformation and disinformation. Studying primary sources helps us to develop critical thinking skills as we must analyse the sources based on their origin, purpose, reliability, and bias in order to form our own interpretation of events. These skills help us to answer the essential question ‘How do we know what we know?’
