Speaker: Brian O'Donovan, RTÉ News Work and Technology correspondent

Many thanks to Brian O'Donovan, journalist, broadcaster, foreign correspondent and author, who visited our library today to talk to 5Ys about his new book, journalism, his time as Washington Correspondent and the challenges of social media.

‘Four Years in the Cauldron’ is his account of four busy years working in the US. Full of colour and detail, this book covers its fractured politics, particularly the extraordinary presidency of Donald Trump and the knife-edge election of Joe Biden, and his unique perspective on stories such as the Covid emergency, the Capitol riot and the murder of George Floyd.
